She has experience in a multitude of different office environments and possesses a keen awareness of employee situations. Kim consistently displays the type of drive that is key to proactive decision making.
Why should companies care about workplace violence? OSHA reports that nearly two million American workers are the victims of workplace violence EVERY year. In 2013 the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that more than 23,000 significant injuries occurred due to an assault at work, and in 2014 there were 749 deaths reported because of workplace violence. Ignorance is no longer an excuse. We can provide training to management and supervisors to help prevent and mitigate workplace violence. Don’t let workplace violence ruin your company.
Workplace violence is not part of the job! TAPS Consultants can provide training for employees on how to navigate various workplace violence events from bullying and assaults all the way to an active shooter event. Conflict resolution is a skill that can be applied to workplace violence as well as every day problem solving. An employee that knows how to resolve conflict is an asset to every company and their coworkers.
Active shooter events occur on an average of 20 times a year. This pattern does not appear to be going away. The FBI reports that 40 percent of active shooter events occur at a business. If our children are being trained on how to survive an active shooter event, why aren’t your employees?
A physical security assessment will let you know where your company stands in terms of how secure your office space is. The assessment will also show you where improvements should be made.
Times are ever changing and with these changes come new threats to employee and company safety. One in every five employee work related deaths is from a workplace violence event. Assessing your company’s security needs before an event happens will help make you and your employees safer while also reducing your company’s risk of liability if/when an event occurs.
TAPS Consultants can provide you with a through physical security assessment to ensure that your company is as safe as it can be. TAPS will also make recommendations to help your company use industry best practices to make you and your employees as safe as possible.
Are you considering terminating a problem employee? Is one of your employees having domestic violence problems? Is a customer showing too much interest in one of your employees? These are just a few of the reasons to have a threat assessment done. TAPS consultants can either do the threat assessment for you, or help your company set up a threat assessment team.
Identifying a threat before it becomes a problem is safer for everyone involved and will save your company from lost work/production time and revenue loss.
“An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!”
Policy review is an important component for every business that has policies. Policies need to be reviewed on an ongoing basis to ensure that your company is following the “best practices” that are set for your industry. TAPS Consultants have spent years drafting and reviewing policies. Have us review your policies on workplace violence so you can be sure that your company is on top of your industry’s requirements and expectations.
